Effective January 1, 2019 Carolina Dermatology Hair Center will be transitioning to a hair restoration practice only and will no longer be offering dermatological services. I have enjoyed my years as a dermatologist but I have simply become too busy to keep both parts of my practice going. I have decided it is time for me to focus only on treating hair loss and performing hair restoration procedures.
The name of Carolina Dermatology, PLLC will change to Cooley Hair Center, PLLC. I am transferring my dermatology practice to Dr. Girish Munavalli who owns and operates Dermatology Laser and Vein Specialists of the Carolinas. Dr. Munavalli is a Board Certified Dermatologist and has been practicing in Charlotte since 2005. You may want to visit his website at www.carolinaskin.com for further information.
Dr. Munavalli and his staff will be sharing space with the Cooley Hair Center at our current location and will be available to take care of any of your future dermatologic needs. Carolina Dermatology Physician Assistant Aaron Blackmer will be joining Dr. Munavalli’s staff and will continue to see patients he treated while working for Carolina Dermatology. Dr. Munavalli’s staff including PA Blackmer will have access to your medical records in order to provide continuity of care.
If you already have an appointment scheduled with me at Carolina Dermatology after January 1, you may keep that appointment and be seen by PA Blackmer or Dr. Munavalli. For those who have been coming to see me for medical treatment of hair loss, you may continue to do so but I will no longer be accepting insurance as of January 1, 2019. Payment for office visits will be expected at the time of service and you may then seek reimbursement from your health insurer. Or if you wish to use your insurance, you may choose to see PA Blackmer who has gained extensive experience in treating hair loss while working with me over the past several years.
