Managing Ongoing Hair Loss During the Holidays

Many women love to wear tight hairstyles but it’s secretly harming their hair.

Tis the season to be jolly, but dealing with hair loss during the holidays isn’t jolly at all. But with the holidays being packed with back-to-back company parties and social gatherings, will you have enough time to spare for getting your hair loss under control?

If you’re looking for a hair restoration solution to manage ongoing hair loss during the holidays without surgery and any inconvenience, you are at the right place! Cooley Hair Center offers nonsurgical hair loss treatments to stop or even regrow your hair.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

You might have heard of platelet-rich plasma used in facial treatments like microneedling or vampire facials. But did you know that we can use PRP to treat your hair loss too?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a noninvasive hair loss treatment to help stimulate natural hair regrowth. It contains high concentrations of platelets and growth factors drawn from the patient’s blood that rejuvenates miniaturized hair follicles to produce thicker hair in thinning areas.

While PRP cannot regrow hair in bald spots, it can improve hair density and overall coverage, especially for patients with diffused hair loss. But unlike other hair restoration clinics that require 3 to 4 appointments per year, Dr. Cooley’s approach requires only one visit per year!

To further improve your results, Dr. Cooley can use PRP with FDA-approved medicated products like Rogaine and Propecia.

Rogaine (Minoxidil)

Rogaine is a topical medication approved by the FDA to treat pattern baldness and the only FDA-approved topical medication for female pattern hair loss. It’s applied to the scalp once or twice daily, available in foam or liquid.

Rogaine works by dilating blood vessels that nourish the hair follicles in the scalp, directly counteracting the follicle-shrinking effects of DHT and preventing further hair loss.

Propecia (Finasteride)

Propecia is a prescription medication to treat pattern baldness in men. It directly manages DHT levels, the hormone that causes your follicles to shrink resulting in premature hair loss. As DHT levels in the scalp decrease, miniaturized hair follicles are stimulated and produce new hair.

It has been clinically shown to slow or stop further hair loss and even produce new hair growth! Five-year results showed that over 85% of men have their hair loss stabilized or improved.
